Sophie joined Chelsea Ladies in January 2012 from Cardiff City. Skilled with either foot, Sophie has cemented her place in the Welsh national side and is a very versatile footballer who can play in a number of roles.
Sophie normally lines up at left-back for her country but used to play holding midfielder for Cardiff. Good on the ball, Sophie never over complicates the game and boasts good composure under pressure combined with impressive aerial ability.

Favourite movie and why: Bridesmaids because I love comedies and this has to be one of the funniest films I have seen in a long time.
As a child, what did you want to be when you grew up?
I always wanted to be a P.E teacher.
What superpower would you have and why?
I would love to be able to breathe under water.
What piece of advice would you have for aspiring female footballers?
Work and train hard throughout training sessions and when you have the chance to play, do your best and focus on your own game. That’s all anyone can do.
When did you start playing football and why?
I started at the age of six when my brother got me into it. I used to have a kick around with him and enjoyed it, it went from there.
When did you realise you could play at this level?
When I was asked if I would like to join Chelsea, it was amazing and I wanted to push myself.
What are your strengths on the pitch?
I am tall so quite good in the air and can use both feet.
What are your strengths off the pitch?
I listen to players with a lot of experience and gain advice from them, also I watch how they train and play so I can improve from their standards.
What are your hobbies outside of football?
I like to make time for my mates and go out with them as regularly when I can.
What’s your most memorable moment playing for Chelsea Ladies?
I have only just started training with Chelsea but I can’t wait to make some fantastic memories at this club.
Have you won any silverware in your career and if so, what and when?
Yes, I won the Welsh Cup twice when I played for Cardiff City Ladies.
