There were some one-sided encounters in the Everards Brewery Leicestershire Senior League Divisions One & Two this weekend. Kirby Muxloe Reserves blasted away Barrow Town Reserves 6-0, hitting five goals in the first half, Callum Key scoring four goals, Kai Bambrick and sub Bilo DaCosta hitting the other strikes. Holwell Sports Reserves also enjoyed the joy of six this weekend, winning 6-1 at Birstall United Reserves, after Tallen Burt and Harry Worby scored in the first half, before Burt added a second shortly after the interval, and the subs bench twisted the knife further, with Charlie Green scoring twice and Bailey Purkis adding another. Liam Burden scored Birstall's consolation.

Meanwhile, Anstey Town laid down a marker with a 4-0 win at Hinckley LRFC Reserves, who never really got going. Joe Harris and Joshua O'Brien scored in the first half, and Dan Page bagged a brace coming off the bench in the second half. Anstey are one of three teams with 100% records in Div1 so far. One of the other two are Leicester Atletico, who defeated Sporting Markfield 3-1, after Kadir Fahie scored early doors, Wahid Amin double the advantage before the drinks break, on what was a warm day in the East Midlands, and Issa Omar wrap up the points in the second half- Josh Scott scoring Markfield's sole strike. The other 100% side is Dunton & Broughton United, for whom Josh Wright scored a double in the first half in their 2-0 win at home to Sutton Bonington, whose record so far reads played three, lost three.

To Division Two, and the two promoted sides faced off at the Emerald Centre, with St Patricks beating Mountsorrel Amateurs 4-0, Jamie Bottomley (2), Jamie Pelos and Ben Shearer the scorers. Loughborough Students Development made it three wins from three with a 2-0 win at Rothley Imperial, Owen James and Angelo Piscitelli scoring a goal apiece, one in the first half and one in the second. Taran Singh Sahota, David Sylla and Iwu Finbarr Onyema gave GNG Oadby Town Development a 3-1 win against Desford & Caterpillar Reserves at Peckleton Lane, Sam Beck scoring for Desford, whilst the LSL's only score draw of the weekend came at Sileby, where Sileby Town Reserves and Loughborough shared the points in a 2-2 draw, Joseph Diorio and Callum Glover for Sileby, who had to come from behind after Karan Anbhavne had scored for Loughborough, Dylan Henderson scoring the Luffs' other goal.

One of the Div1 100% records will fall next week, as Anstey Town face Dunton & Broughton in one of the big fixtures in Division One next Saturday, whilst in the Premier, Barrow host Khalsa in what could already be a relegation six-pointer, the loser of that game likely to be in the bottom two come the end of next weekend, with bottom side Ashby Ivanhoe Knights facing a difficult ask against the free-scoring Allexton & New Parks. We'll be back next week, same time, same place, same format, covering the best of the action. See you then.
