Ramble round of Everards Teams in the County and Tiger league cup for week ending 18th November by Mason N orton

The second round of the County Cups finally concluded this week. On Tuesday night in the Senior Cup, UCL Division One side Kirby Muxloe took Everards Leicestershire Senior League Premier Division side Ellistown to the cleaners, thumping them 8-2. Dante Naute-Brown took just a quarter of an hour to smash his hat-trick, with Lucca Watson-Quilter also scoring to make it 4-0 after just 15 minutes. A brace from Hashim Bakar for the visitors made it 4-2 by half-time, and gave faint hopes of a comeback, but a Paul Pallett brace shortly after the break, followed by strikes from Jack Gunn and sub Callum Key in the later stages, rounded off the scoreline and put Kirby into the quarter-finals where they face Step 6 Midland League promotion-chasers Heather.

Midweek saw the outstanding Saturday Intermediate Cup tie resolved, as the Cup Competitions committee ensured that Everards Brewery Div1 Ingles Development were awarded a walkover against AFC Leicester, who were unable to raise a side. On Saturday, Everards Div2 side Loughborough FC exited the Saturday Trophy with a 3-1 defeat at home to Leicester Lions of the County League.

Meanwhile, the Tiger Cup began to play catch-up, with two rescheduled first-round ties pencilled in. Unfortunately, only one of them was played, with Sutton Bonington's tie at home to Ashby Ivanhoe Knights falling victim to the weather again on Saturday. Tuesday night did see an all-Premier clash, as Aylestone Park Reserves thumped Cottesmore AFC 6-0 at the Linwood, Marley Spencer and Lewis Turland both scoring braces, Maradoche Mipro scoring on his return from suspension and Aaron Preston also scoring, Park 4-0 up by the interval.

Next week sees three of the four outstanding ties from the first round, including holders Burbage & Huncote against League leaders Allexton & New Parks, Desford & Caterpillar welcoming Div1 outfit Dunton & Broughton United and Magna 73 playing Friar Lane & Epworth. Ramble Round the Cups will cover those games next week, and will then appear the week after, to take a look at the quarter-finals of the Senior Cup, and the last 16 of the Saturday Intermediate Cup and Saturday Trophy.
