Chelsea Recruit Goalkeeper Lynn
Chelsea Ladies can confirm that goalkeeper Shannon Lynn has joined the club on an emergency deal from Scottish side Hibernian Ladies.
Nicola Davies who had started the opening two games of the campaign for the club, had been in outstanding form but she has been posted to Oman with the RAF.
The club had hoped to have Carly Telford back fit to replace Davies for this weekend’s FA WSL game against Doncaster Rovers Belles. But Telford fractured her hand in training on Tuesday night.
With Telford and Davies both unavailable, Chelsea were left with young Jess Myers as the only fit goalkeeper so they turned to Lynn, 27.
Lynn is a Scottish international who has a wealth of experience and was indeed named Scottish Players' Player of the Year in 2011.
She has previously played in the North American W-League for Fort Wayne Fever and FC Indiana. Lynn made her senior Scotland debut against Switzerland in June 2010.
Lynn's first start for Scotland was a 2–0 win over England at the 2011 Cyprus Cup; the Scots' first win over the Auld Enemy for 34 years.
The talented goalkeeper made her Chelsea debut last night in the 4-0 away win at Doncaster.
